Description

The scope of this project is to establish a long-term, viable, world-class domestic manufacturer of high energy density lithium ion (Li-ion) batteries that is responsive to customer requirements with respect to performance, reliability, quality, delivery, and price. These batteries will be designed to provide power for U.S. military long endurance Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) for dismount soldier, long endurance autonomous systems, and tactical vehicles. For the purpose of this project, the Li-ion cells of interest will have an energy density >= 250 Wh/kg at 250 W/kg continuous (i.e. 1C rate) for military applications.
