Description

The USGS is offering a funding opportunity for research to introduce a comprehensive framework for modeling changes in glacier runoff and associated changes in biogeochemical fluxes on a regional scale. The results of the efforts will have broad societal impacts in both the North Pacific Ecoregion and globally. Runoff from glaciers along the GOA, which exceeds the annual discharge of the Mississippi River, is an important control of the structure of the freshwater-driven Alaska Coastal Current (ACC).
