Exploration of Acoustic Environments – Natural Sound Field Activities Focused on Diverse and Undeserved Youth
ArchivedNational Park Service
Description
This announcement is National Park Service’s Notice of Intent (NOI) to issue a task agreement to an existing cooperative agreement. This is a non competitive agreement to Global Explorers in which through a cooperative relationship with the NPS Natural Sounds Program (NSP) will provide the opportunity to educate a diverse group of students and adults on the characteristics and significance of the acoustical environment, by immersing them into the topic directly through expeditions. As it is the NSP’s mission to inspire public appreciation of the value and characters of soundscapes in national parks by increasing their knowledge and understanding of acoustics, some initiatives that will be accomplished through this agreement include: the development, improvement, and implementation of attended listening exercises for the expeditions; and customization of existing sound-related activities for diverse youth including blind/visually impaired, deaf/hard of hearing, low-income, gifted and urban youth. This task agreement is issued under existing Cooperative Agreement H2390090025. This is a notice of intent and non competitive announcement in accordance with Department of Interior, Policy Department Manual 505 DM 2.
