Description

The purpose of this program is to increase access to, and quality of, HIV services in Addis Ababa, the capital city of, Ethiopia, including confidential HIV counseling and testing, and HIV care and support. The program will strengthen the national model voluntary counseling and testing (VCT) centers in Addis Ababa to provide quality HIV testing services and replicate best practices in other sites. With the increasing availability and uptake of free Anti-Retroviral Therapy (ART), persons living with HIV (PLHIVs) need a comprehensive care and support services in order to enhance treatment adherence, increase coping capabilities and thereby improve quality of life. PLHIVs need to receive a continuum of care and support services. This funding will support the expansion of care and support services at the community level in Addis Ababa, in collaboration with other PEPFAR partners. Such care will improve the quality of life of patients and their families. This program will strengthen Ethiopia's efforts in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of care and support at hospitals, health centers and community level partners, improving access to quality interventions for PLHIVs.
