Description
The Endangered Species Great Lakes Restoration Initiative Grants Program provides grants and other assistance on a competitive basis to individuals, groups, and government agencies engaged in voluntary conservation efforts to benefit species listed as endangered or threatened under the Endangered Species Act of 1973, as amended, candidate species, and other at-risk species within the Great Lakes Watershed of the United States.

- City or township governments
- Public and State controlled institutions of higher education
- Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized)
- Nonprofits with 501(c)(3) status (other than higher education)
- Individuals
