Purpose of Program: The objective of this program is to provide grants to institutions of higher education (IHEs) that meet certain qualifications, to promote training and placement of individuals, including individuals who have completed a court reporting training program, as realtime writers in order to meet the equirements for closed captioning of video programming set forth in section 713 of the Communications Act of 1934 (47 U.S.C. 613) and the regulations prescribed thereunder. Applications for grants under the Training for Realtime Writers Program, CFDA number 84.116K, must be submitted electronically using the Governmentwide Grants.gov Apply site at www.Grants.gov. You must search for the downloadable application package for this competition by the CFDA number. Do not include the CFDA number's alpha suffix in your search (e.g., search for 84.116, not 84.116K).
