The purpose of the American Indian/Alaska Native Health Disparities Grant Program is to improve the effectiveness of efforts to eliminate health disparities for American Indian and Alaska Native communities. Through this FY 2012 announcement, the OMH is supporting utilization of epidemiological data to identify high priority health status objectives and to make recommendations relative to the services and/or activities required to address those objectives; development of alliances and partnerships to improve coordination of and access to quality health services; and development of programs designed to increase the representation of the American Indians/Alaska Natives in the health care workforce (including research positions).
