Description
The Department of Energy, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Wind and Water Power Program, is issuing a Funding Opportunity Announcement entitled In-Water Wave Energy Conversion WEC Device Testing Support. The DOE, as described in detail below, is working closely with The Department of Navy to support and promote wave energy technologies. This FOA will support the testing of one WEC device at the Navy?s existing 30m Wave Energy Test Site located at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. Only WEC buoy point-absorber device types are being considered for funding at this time.
