Immunization Information Systems Sentinel Site Project
ArchivedCenters for Disease Control and Prevention
Description
Purpose The Immunization Information System (IIS) Sentinel Site Project specifically aims to advance the use of IIS data and the current knowledge of the benefits and strengths of the IIS, while also contributing to gaps in the scientific literature. In addition, the activities implemented within Sentinel Sites can strengthen the infrastructure of the IIS in the state/city it serves, and potentially be applied to other state/city IIS operations. The Sentinel Site Project examines vaccine use among children aged 0-18 years in the IIS Sentinel Site area, develops methodologies for IIS data analysis and evaluates IIS system functionality to identify best practices. The projects explored by Sentinel Sites often have broader implications for the IIS community, and introduce new and innovative ideas to IIS operations in the state.
