Description
The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) issued by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), National Institutes of Health (NIH), is to invite grant applications for research designed to elucidate the epidemiology, etiology, treatment, and prevention of mental disorders, including emotional and behavioral problems, in persons of any age with intellectual disabilities. Although intellectual disabilities and autism often co-occur, other separate FOAs are intended for investigators interested in autism: Research on Autism and Autism Spectrum Disorders under the NIH Research Project Grant (R01) (PA-10-158), the NIH Small Research Grant (R03) (PA-10-159), and the NIH Exploratory/Developmental Grant (R21) (PA-10-160) award mechanisms.
