Fish and Wildlife Service

Description

The purpose of this agreement is to provide support and training for National Wildlife Refuge System Friends organizations. Friends organizations perform important work on 230 national wildlife refuges across the country, ranging from visitor services, inventory and monitoring, communications and partnership programs. The Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation recognize the value of local citizens who volunteer hundreds of thousands of hours each year to complete hands-on conservation work and quality recreational opportunities for the visiting public. The Service and the NFWS have a long-standing relationship that helps foster meaningful community partnership programs through grants and other support programs. Friends are non-profit organizations comprised of local citizens who are interested in volunteering their time and expertise to improving our programs.
