Description

The project will produce documentation of the Forty Acres historic site, which is significant for its association with the productive career of Cesar Chavez, Chicano Movement leader and labor activist, and the founder of the United Farm Workers of America (UFWA). The documentation will consist of measured drawings of key buildings on site and will be undertaken according to the guidelines and standards of the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS), Heritage Documentation Programs (HDP). The project is being undertaken as part of the larger American Latino Heritage initiative, intended to bring attention to the contributions to the nation’s history and heritage of an under-represented segment of our population.
