Description

A primary goal of the Dam Safety Act (Public Law 109-460) is to encourage the establishment and maintenance of effective State dam safety programs and to provide training, education, and public awareness to States that are moving toward improved safety of non-federal dams in their States. The Federal Emergency Agency (FEMA) proposes to provide a grant of $300,000 in FY2012 to the Association of State Dam Safety Officials, Inc., (ASDSO), a non-profit organization and a Cooperative Technical Partner since FY2010, for the development and implementation of dam safety training and education courses for State Dam Safety Officials, dam owners, dam safety professionals,and the public.
