Description
The Office of Citizen Exchanges of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) announces an open competition for cooperative agreements for the Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) Program: Host Family and School Placement and Monitoring Component to promote mutual understanding between the United States and the countries of Eurasia. The FLEX program will provide scholarships for Eurasian high school students to live in American society for an academic year. In turn, these students will expose U.S. citizens to the culture, traditions, and lifestyles of people in Eurasia. Public and private nonprofit organizations meeting the provisions described in Internal Revenue Code section 26 USC 501(c)(3) are invited to submit proposals to identify host schools; vet, select, and monitor host families; and place and monitor a portion of the students participating in the FLEX program during the 2013-14 academic year.
