Description

The U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL), Bureau of International Labor Affairs (ILAB) announces its intent to award up to $1.5 million for one or more cooperative agreements to one or more organizations to raise awareness of and improve workers’ ability to protect and claim their labor rights in Colombia. The project will strengthen the capacity of local organizations, to include NGOs and other non-profit groups, in order to educate and provide advice to workers about the scope and applicability of relevant labor and criminal laws, and when necessary, provide legal services to assist with the procedural and documentation requirements to initiate inspections, investigations, and/or seek remedies. The duration of the projects funded by this solicitation can be up to four years and six months. The start date of program activities will be negotiated upon award of an individual cooperative agreement, but will be no later than December 31, 2012.
