The Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor (DRL) announces a Request for Proposals from organizations interested in submitting proposals for projects that promote democracy, human rights, and rule of law in Europe and Eurasia, specifically Belarus and Roma Regional projects. DRL invites organizations to submit proposals outlining program concepts and capacity to manage projects targeting the following issues: Empowerment of Roma in Civil Society (approximately $700,000 available): DRL?s objective is to combat violence and fight discrimination against Roma in Europe. This regional program will train Roma civic leaders and NGOs to effectively engage in local, national, and regional advocacy. Increasing Community Participation in Belarus (approximately $600,000 available): DRL?s objective is to broaden the knowledge and understanding of Belarusians outside of urban centers on community advocacy and activism.
