This Notice of Intent (NOI) is not a request for funding applications. Subject to the availability of funds, the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL), Bureau of International Labor Affairs, will award a cooperative agreement to fund a technical assistance project(s) to address exploitative child labor among youth by helping them develop marketable skills to secure decent work. The project will target vulnerable youth age 14 through 18, promoting education and vocational training and decent work opportunities for those of appropriate work age. The project will also seek to enhance livelihoods for youth and their households, support civic engagement by youth, and encourage youth to take on leadership roles within their communities. This project is intended to serve as a pilot youth empowerment and development initiative that could be replicated in other African countries. The Office of Procurement Services (OPS) anticipates publishing the Solicitation for Grant Applications (SGA) on or about 31 May 2013(this date is subject to change). This NOI does not include an SGA or any attachments. It only constitutes a notice of USDOL's intent to publish an SGA at a later date. Interested applicants are encouraged to monitor www.grants.gov for the SGA, as this is the method by which it will be made available to the public. No e-mail or paper copies will be provided.
