Description

FMCSA's Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program Basic and Incentive grants are intended to assist states in developing or implementing national programs for the uniform enforcement of federal and state rules and regulations concerning motor safety. The major objective of this program is to reduce the number and severity of accidents involving commercial motor vehicles. Grants are awareded to qualified states for the development of programs to enforce the federal motor carrier safety and hazardous materials regulations and the Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Act of 1986.
