BLM WO Statistical support for the BLM Landscape Monitoring Project
ArchivedBureau of Land Management
Description
The purpose of this project is to work with the Center for Survey Statistics and Methodology at Iowa State University, so the BLM can obtain statistical support for conducting the Landscape Monitoring Project. The landscape monitoring project is part of BLM implementation of the Assessment, Inventory, and Monitoring Strategy. It provides the overall framework for developing random sample locations for all vegetative data collected on BLM lands that uses core indicators and standard methods. Statistical support is required to implement the landscape monitoring project. The Bureau collects landscape monitoring information in coordination with the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) and their Natural Resources Inventory (NRI). Statistical support is needed to design a valid survey, provide quality assurance and control for data and to produce estimates for the indicators from data collected on BLM lands by NRCS.
