This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) requests applications for a new research consortium, the Consortium on Targeting and Regeneration (CTAR), that will support the development of innovative strategies to increase functional human beta cell mass in vivo through the controlled manipulation of beta cell replication or islet plasticity, or the reprogramming of adult non-beta cells into beta-like cells. CTAR will be part of the Human Islet Research Network (HIRN).
