Description

The work of this project would be to reduce the number of campsites in the Walk-In Loop from 24 to 12. The work will include removing 6x6 timber edging, picnic tables, fire rings, camp pad materials and site identification. The sites will need to have minor vegetation restoration completed to help obscure the old site footprint. This loop of the campground will remain closed for the season while this work is accomplished. The crew doing the work will be expected to camp in the project area for the duration of the project. Restroom, shower and water facilities are located adjacent to the walk-in loop. The crew will be expected to provide the labor necessary to complete the work as described using park provided tools and equipment; including wheelbarrows, shovels, saws, generator, power saws, rakes, loppers and pry bars. The crew is expected to provide all personal protective equipment including, but not limited to: helmets, boots, gloves, safety glasses, bug repellent, sunscreen, poison ivy soap and first aid kit. The crew will need to furnish its own transportation to and from Indiana Dunes, the work area and its own transportation during the course of the work. The crew will provide all camping supplies including tents, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, lanterns, cooking equipment, food, water storage and cleaning equipment.
