Purpose of Program: The President has set a clear goal for the Nation's education system. By 2020 the United States will once again lead the world in the proportion of its citizens holding college degrees or other postsecondary credentials. To support this national effort the Department of Education has outlined a comprehensive education agenda that includes expanding quality and opportunity at all levels of education from early learning programs through higher education. The FITW Program is a key part of this agenda. Applications for grants under the First in the World Program, CFDA number 84.116F, must be submitted electronically using the Government- wide Grants.gov Apply site at www.Grants.gov.You may access the electronic grant application for First in the World Program at www.Grants.gov.
