Description

Funding is available through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to complete the Battle Creek Thermal Infrared (TIR) imagery collection. The purpose of having TIR imagery is to determine the sources of cold-water refuges within the Battle Creek Salmon and Steelhead Restoration Project (BCRP) area and to compare pre-project and post-project conditions. The TIR imagery will be used in conjunction with already acquired light detection and ranging (LiDAR) information and ortho-recitified aerial imagery. These three datasets will be analyzed in Geographic Information System (GIS) and GIS deliverables will be required. This funded project will cover the costs of the flight, creation of longitudinal temperature profile and GIS compatible files. Battle Creek is a tributary to the Upper Sacramento River near Cottonwood, CA, with three distinct stream sections, mainstem Battle Creek (Shasta/Tehama County), North Fork Battle Creek (Shasta/Tehama County) and South Fork Battle Creek (Tehama County). A map of the project area is attached at the end of this document.
