Cardiovascular Development Consortium (UM1)
ArchivedNational Institutes of Health
Description
The purpose of this FOA is to invite applications for participation as a Research Center in a continuation of the Cardiovascular Development Consortium (CvDC). The CvDC's mission is to advance our understanding of the biological networks that direct cardiovascular development and to apply that knowledge to identify the mechanisms of human congenital heart disease (CHD). The CvDC approach is to assemble a collaborative consortium of Research Centers that will address leading scientific challenges related to cardiovascular development. The consortium will coordinate the Centers' distinct research interests to exploit complementary areas of expertise. The CvDC fosters investigation along the translational spectrum of CHD research through interactions with the Pediatric Cardiac Genomics Consortium (PCGC) and the Pediatric Heart Network (PHN). Together, the CvDC, PCGC, and PHN constitute the Bench to Bassinet Program (B2B). Sites not currently part of the CvDC are encouraged to apply and propose new directions for the consortium.
