AGENCY VALLEY BULL TROUT HABITAT IMPVMT
ArchivedBureau of Reclamation
Description
With this financial assistance VOID will pipe approximately 10,400 feet of open, unlined delivery laterals to reduce seepage losses and operational spills, saving 300 acre-feet annually to supplement the carryover pool in Agency Valley Reservoir, to support prey species for bull trout wintering in the reservoir. These activities include the installation of four screened pipeline inlet structures on the South Canal, and nine farm delivery structures. In additional to direct water savings, the proposed piping will help landowners to convert from furrow irrigation to more efficient sprinklers reducing water uses and providing additional water for the carryover pool.
