Operation and Maintenance of Russell Lakes, San Luis Valley Project, Closed Basin Division

Description
In order to meet mitigation requirements, the San Luis Valley Project, Closed Basin Division is required to provide for the preservation and enhancement of existing wildlife habitats. The creation of Russell Lakes partially fulfills this requirement. This agreement will provide for the continued operation and maintenance of the Russell Lakes area by providing to the Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) an estimated $340,000 in operating funds. The first increment will be $68,000 for FY 2015, with the remaining amount in equal increments of $68,000 over the remaining 4-year period.
