National Vegetation Classification for Regional Scale Analysis
ArchivedGeological Survey
Description
The focus of the projects proposed under this funding opportunity should be on providing regional extent analyses or tools necessary to refine and or apply the current classification. Proposals should focus on a specific level of the hierarchy, i.e. macrogroup, group, but describe how the relationships to higher and lower levels of the classification will be addressed in the research. Proposals can include traditional vegetation classification approaches, e.g. ordination, clustering etc., or development of tools necessary to apply the existing classification in support natural resource assessments for a region, e.g. field keys, interactive keys. In addition to the reports and deliverables identified in the proposal, vegetation plot data not otherwise in a permanent archive must be deposited in VegBank or provided in a database consistent with the VegBank data model.
