Description

The purpose of this Annual Program Statement (APS) is to disseminate information to prospective applicants, so that they may develop and submit applications for USAID funding. Specifically, this APS; 1)Describes the types of activity for which applications will be considered; 2)Describes the funding available and the process and requirements for submitting applications; 3)Explains the criteria for evaluating applications; and, 4)Provides guidance on the types of entities that are eligible to apply for funding. USAID may award one or multiple grants or no awards at all, as a result of this APS. The goal of this Program is to fund innovations that will result in widespread improvements in literacy skills for Bangladeshi students via: 1) improved teaching and learning materials; 2) increased local capacity; 3) better trained teachers to develop literacy skills for students; and, 4) better education data to support decision-making, transparency, incentives and accountability. All of which are essential to advancing the goal of all children reading in the primary grades
