Support to Agriculture Research and Development Program
ArchivedAgency for International Development
Description
Feed the Future is the United States Government's global hunger and food security initiative. It supports country driven approaches to address the root causes of hunger and poverty and forge long term solutions to chronic food insecurity and under nutrition. Drawing upon resources and expertise of agencies across the U.S. Government, this Presidential Initiative is helping countries transform their own agriculture sectors to grow enough food sustainably to feed their people. To support this effort the U.S. Agency for International Development is requesting applications from qualified organizations to implement the Support to Agricultural Research and Development Program, as described fully in Section I below. At the end of this agreement, USAID expects the implementer to achieve the following results: (1) The availability and implementation of improved agricultural production technologies and systems is increased; (2) Agricultural technologies and nutrition information extension systems are strengthened.
