Description
The USGS is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research on golden eagle movement behavior and ecology in the context of renewable energy development. The CESU partner will perform research associated with interactions between golden eagles and wind energy development in California. Towards this goal, the partner will work with the USGS to assist the USFWS to understand the extent to which results from surveys for golden eagle use correspond to actual use of specific areas by eagles. Data from telemetry monitoring of eagles will be provided to the CESU partner by USGS and partner staff will evaluate the relationship between potentially observable and actual eagle use. This analysis could be published in a wildlife management, conservation biology or applied ecology journal.
