Intermediate-range Climate Forecasting to Support Water Supply and Flood Control with a Regionally Focused Mesoscale Model

Archived

Bureau of Reclamation

Description

The objective of this project is to assess the capabilities of using mesocscale numerical weather predictions (NWP) model(s) to provide hydro-climate forecasts data at improved accuracy and spatiotemporal coverage relative to currently available products. This assessment will largely fit the adaption of mesoscale weather predictions to the forecast needs of operators and is motivated by the need for accurate and timely information to support streamflow forecasting and decision making by water resource managers.
