Description

The US Geological Survey is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU Partner for research to quantify pollen loads and pollinator communities associated with berry production in northern blueberry, Vaccinium uliginosum. Increases in air temperature are associated with increased pollinator visitation rates at high latitudes. More generally, however, climate change is expected to alter the mutualistic interactions between plants and pollinators and ultimately lead to lower ecosystem resiliency and to extinctions of pollinators and plants.
