The occurrence and fate of rockfall in Mount Rainier National Park
ArchivedNational Park Service
Description
This project will estimate the timing, location, and amounts of rockfall to Mount Rainier National Park (MORA) glaciers, and delivery of the rockfall from the glaciers to the rivers. Information on historic rockfall to glaciers will be obtained by exploiting the existing seismic records. Sediment production processes to rivers will be quantified by repeat terrestrial LiDAR surveys of the Nisqually glacier terminus area.
