Shoreline Restoration at Navy Recreation Center Solomon's, Solomon's, MD
ArchivedNAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND
Description
The primary purpose of this Cooperative Agreement is to stabilize 820 linear feet of the Patuxent River shoreline along the northern face of NRC Solomon’s, replenishing the sand that ‘feeds’ the historic Point Patience spit, and to assess the success of the restoration/stabilization effort. The proposed project will provide both habitat enhancements and water quality benefits for the near shore environment of NRC Solomon’s as well as to both the Patuxent River and Chesapeake Bay. A baseline survey shall be done to establish baseline conditions of the 820 linear feet of shoreline prior to implementation. The baseline assessment effort will aid in the evaluation of the restoration effectiveness. A preliminary report will be prepared upon completion of the baseline survey. The information contained in the preliminary report will feed into the final restoration assessment report which includes the before and after conditions.
