This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is for applicants to support:Component A) continuation of the epidemiological research capability of the Centers for Autism and Developmental Disabilities Epidemiology (CADDRE) Network with implementation of the Study to Explore Early Development (SEED) Phase 3.SEED is a case-control study of genetic and environmental risk and protective factors for autism with multiple-source ascertainment of case and comparison groups; SEED Phase 3 is a continuation of SEED 1 and SEED 2 with the same basic study design but with some enhancements in study recruitment and some reductions in data collection.Component B) implementation of the SEED Central Laboratory and Biosample Repository (CLBR) to support the maintenance and storage of the SEED Phase 1 and Phase 2 biosample repository and support the collection and storage of the SEED Phase 3 biosamples. Applicants who apply for Component A may also apply for Component B. Component C) development and implementation of a study protocol and feasibility assessment for a follow-up study of SEED 1 participants.Component C is a project to develop and implement a short protocol and feasibility assessment for conducting a follow-up of the children who enrolled in SEED 1 and completed the SEED 1 study data collection protocol.
