Description
The purpose of the program is to prevent and control violence and unintentional injuries through activitiesthat promote: the development of indicators and surveillance systems to monitor injuries and violence in lowandmiddle-income countries; training and education; implementation of and evaluation of comprehensivestrategies to prevent and control injuries and violence in low- and middle-income countries; and thedissemination of information, tools, and expertise to prevent and control injuries and violence. This programis international in scope but addresses the “Healthy People 2020” focus area(s) of preventing injury andviolence. The recipient will be tasked with developing tools, resources, and partnerships to promote theprevention and control of unintentional injuries and violence for use by practitioners.
