Description

This cooperative agreement will assist the National Woman⿿s Party with their interpretive efforts to educate the public about the women⿿s rights movements and to provide programming to explore, on-site and digitally, the outstanding historic library and suffragist and ERA archives. This project increases public awareness, knowledge and support for the historic preservation and stewardship of our nation⿿s cultural and historic heritage. The Woman⿿s National Party will: 1. Educate the public about the women⿿s rights movement through interpretive and educational programs at the Sewell-Belmont House & Museum. 2. Provide programming on how the political strategies and the tactics of Alice Paul and the National Woman⿿s Party became a blueprint for civil-rights organizations throughout the twentieth century. 3. Kick-off women⿿s history month at Sewall-Belmont House & Museum with the 2016 theme of ⿿Working to Form a More Perfect Union⿝. Provide workshops with educators focused on teaching strategies to use in their classrooms with the activities of the National Woman⿿s Party. 4. Provide teacher workshops showcasing the digital collections at Sewall-Belmont, and how primary source material can be incorporated into lesson plans using reproduction materials. NPS will: 1. Provide technical guidance in the areas of interpretation, education, and use of artifacts. 2. Continue to provide support on the digitizing of archival material. 3. Provide, among other documents, all current Director⿿s Orders and guidelines on interpretation and education and the use of museum collections. 4. Promote NWP programming through the park⿿s social media, website, and publications. 5. Address emergency issues that could pose a threat to the Sewell-Belmont House & Museum. NPS and NPS, jointly, agree to: 1. Maintain close communication and cooperation all matters related to the implementation of this Task Agreement, and that each shall inform the other as soon as possible of any circumstances, actions, or inactions that appear to necessitate adjustments to this Agreement. 2. Work together to explore opportunities for NWP programing and NPS programming.
