Description

1) Provide pathology and diagnostic testing for mortality events and disease outbreak investigations as they occur in NPS units; 2) Allow veterinary student participation where appropriate to diversify the type of species students encounter during pathology rotations to increase conservation awareness; 3) Increase capacity of students and natural resource staff to investigate disease and gain information to support the scientific knowledge base related to wildlife diseases in parks and across North America; 4) Maintain archived samples for further investigation by NPS or other investigators.
