Description

The Gulf Coast Joint Venture is among the joint ventures that currently receive funding through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for administration of the partnership. These funds are critical for guiding and facilitating the partnershipâ¿¿s efforts to incorporate biological planning, conservation design, and conservation delivery with monitoring and research in an adaptive resource management framework (i.e., strategic habitat conservation). In 2008 the migratory bird habitat joint ventures developed a matrix of desired characteristics for habitat joint venture partnerships. The matrix identifies technical expectations of a migratory bird habitat joint venture partnership at each of two levels, minimal content and comprehensive content, for each of the following categories: Organizational Performance; Biological Planning; Conservation Design; Habitat Delivery; Monitoring; Research; and Communication, Education and Outreach.
