Description

This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service’s intention to fund the following project activities without full and open competition, by awarding a task agreement to the Student Conservation Association (SCA) for several youth interns and crews. The primary objective is to support youth development opportunities in the National Park Service through volunteer service and leadership experience at North Cascades National Park Service Complex. Education through experience is one of the prime components of these SCA positions. NPS will acquaint the youth participants with wilderness ethics, Leave No Trace camping skills, resource management policies, first aid/CPR, bear awareness, defensive driving, native plant identification, introduce them to federal land management, and interdisciplinary/interagency teamwork. A more detailed description is in the attached Notice of Intent (in Related Documents).
