Fox River NRDA
ArchivedFish and Wildlife Service
Description
Restoration and enhancement of the Sensiba State Wildlife Area. The funding will be provided by Fox River natural resource damage assessment (NRDA) settlement funds. The Trustees allocated funding to this project to fulfill the natural resource objectives of the Joint Restoration Plan and Environmental Assessment for The Lower Fox River and Green Bay Area published in 2003 under the authority of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act. A copy of the Restoration Plan can be found at foxrivernrda.org or provided by the agency contact by request. This is a notice of intent to award a single source grant agreement to Ducks Unlimited without competition under justification 505DM 2.14.B.4. Competition for the award is not practical as Ducks Unlimited is uniquely qualified for the implementation of restoration at the Sensiba State Wildlife Area and has completed design and engineering work prior to this implementation phase. DU has also applied for and received matching funds from a number of different sources to complete the project including state of Wisconsin waterfowl stamp funds, Sustain Our Great Lakes, and Fund for Lake Michigan. DU has intimate knowledge of the site and completed an initial phase of the project at the site in 2013.
