Description
The USGS is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner to conduct avian disease research on Kauai. The motivation for this work includes (1) the need for immediate control of mosquito borne disease in critical habitat of three endangered endemic forest birds; (2) evaluation of existing and registered biopesticides for local control of Culex quinquefasciatus in the Kawaikoi Stream drainage; and (3) investigating the possible impacts of these biopesticides on non-targets species.
