This Funding Announcement is not a request for applications. This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service (NPS) intention to fund a Task Agreement against an existing Master Agreement. The focus of this collaborative project is the inventory and documentation of places that may be eligible for listing on the National Register as traditional cultural properties for culturally associated American Indian tribes. The project is a collaborative effort between the NPS, the Santee Sioux Tribe, the Yankton Sioux Tribe, the Ponca Tribe, and Texas Tech University. Four other partners were considered for this project: Colorado State University, University of Washington, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and Ft. Collins College. A combination of technical proposal, personnel qualifications, and personnel experience made Texas Tech University the stand-out partner for this effort. The NPS will work with the project PI in finalizing the scope of work, meeting with the park and tribal entities, facilitating and participating in fieldwork, analysis of data, and review of any final documentation, along with the normal project management and oversight responsibilities.
