Description
The Recipient is a member of the University of South Dakota, Missouri River Institute who was awarded a Master Cooperative Agreement P16AC00011 allowing the University of South Dakota to participate in specific tasks, and can provide the necessary activities involved in this particular task while providing an effective outcome for NPS and the objectives of this research/educational project. OVERVIEW: To develop a shared intern program and hire interns to assist with MNRR and Missouri River Institute projects. Projects will focus on scientific research, land management, inventory and monitoring, and environmental education. STATEMENT OF JOINT OBJECTIVES/PROJECT MANAGEMENT PLAN: To develop a shared intern program and hire interns to assist with MNRR and Missouri River Institute projects. Projects will focus on scientific research, land management, inventory and monitoring, and environmental education. RECIPIENT INVOLVEMENT: Work cooperatively with Missouri National Recreational River to develop the Missouri River Natural Resources Intern Program. Be the host of the Missouri River Natural Resources Intern Program. Announce the internship via University of South Dakota outlets. Hire interns collaboratively with the NPS. Be the primary intern supervisor and supervise interns while completing MRI projects. Conduct intern evaluations at end of intern employment within input from the NPS. Work collaboratively with NPS to evaluate intern program. NATIONAL PARK SERVICE INVOLVEMENT: Work cooperatively with Missouri River Institute to develop the Missouri River Natural Resources Intern Program. Announce the internship via National Park Service outlets. Hire interns collaboratively with the Missouri River Institute. Supervise interns while completing NPS projects. Provide input for intern evaluations at end of intern employment.
