This Funding Announcement is not a request for applications. This announcement is to provide public with the notice of intent that the National Park Service (NPS), will fund these activities with a recipient with which a Cooperative Agreement already exists. Specifically, Groundwork USA will: 1. Recruit, select, and manage the six person youth and young adult team to complete the pollinator gardens. 2. Recruit, select, train, and manage experienced Crew Leaders who will train and supervise a six person team. Leaders will plan training opportunities and field trips designed to build community understanding and environmental stewardship with participants. 3. Provide for transportation to and from individual work sites and subsistence as needed/appropriate during the tour of duty. 4. Provide for service clothing for each member as needed/appropriate. 5. Provide for supplies and equipment including but not limited to personal protective equipment (gloves, safety vests, eye protection, and hearing protection), trash bags, loppers, handsaws, brooms, rakes, and litter grabbers. 6. Work with the National Wildlife Federation to purchase grow lights, plant trays and soil testing kits for participating schools as well as native plants for the program. 7. Work with the National Wildlife Federation to conduct teacher workshops, provide master gardener consultants, interns to facilitate classroom and field visits in the fall and spring, and master teachers to support new teachers through their first year of the Wild program. 8. Provide for additional educational and recruitment materials such as brochures, printed materials and advertising for the individual projects for startup of the program.
