Modeling Habitat Connectivity and Range Expansion for the Pacific Marten and Fisher in Northern California

Description
Funds under this Single Source CESU award to Humboldt State University are to be used to: (1) develop a habitat suitability model by mapping fisher and marten habitat use and selection at two spatial scales; (2) conduct a least cost path connectivity analysis to describe how dispersing fishers and martens are moving through unoccupied habitat; and (3) model Humboldt marten population expansion in northwestern California. This award is made under the authority of the Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act of 1958, 16 U.S.C.661.
