This funding opportunity announcement (FOA) invites applications to coordinate the mentoring and career development of rehabilitation researchers in relevant clinical domains, which may include any one of the following: physiatrists, physical/occupational therapy and allied health professionals, clinicians involved in neurological rehabilitation, or bioengineers. Unlike some other NIH K12 programs, this FOA seeks applications for a national network rather than a program exclusively located at the applicant institution. The applicant will be responsible for identifying qualified candidates (scholars) and supporting them in appropriate research environments throughout the country. The NICHD plans to support K12 programs representing relevant academic disciplines, especially those listed above.
