Description
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Fort Collins Science Center (FORT) is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research on chemical ecology of invasive Burmese pythons (Python molurus bivittatus) in southeastern Florida. The USGS is a federal scientific organization in the Department of Interior and is working with numerous federal and state agencies on invasive species research focusing on the biology, impacts, and control of invasive species. The Invasive Species Science Branch at USGS-FORT currently has expertise in the ecology of biological invasions, but lacks expertise in chemical ecology, specifically endocrinology, pheromones, and sexual signaling.
