The U.S. Embassy in Mexico City is pleased to announce the call for abstracts for the 2017 Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP) large grants program. You are invited to send project abstracts for large-scale, partnership-based projects to preserve significant cultural heritage sites in Mexico for initial review by the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City. The AFCP large grants program takes place in two rounds: Project Abstract (Round 1) and Full Project Proposal (Round 2). Only those applicants whose abstracts are successfully reviewed will be eligible to develop and submit full proposals for round 2. Attached to this notification are further details on the types of projects that can be funded. The minimum floor on AFCP large grant awards is $200,000 per project, up to a maximum of $979,000. Applicants may propose performance periods of up to 60 months (five years) demarcated in one-year budget periods (2017, 2018, 2019, etc.). Projects must begin before September 30, 2017 and conclude no later than September 30, 2020. The deadline for receipt of abstracts is January 1, 2017. Fully developed project proposals for successful abstracts will be due February 3, 2017.
