Description
This announcement solicits applications for the Increasing Organ Donation Awareness Grant Program. The overall purpose of the program is to reduce the gap between the demand for organ transplants and the supply of organ donors. For the FY 2017 grant cycle, the program seeks proposals related to living organ donation and vascularized composite allograft (VCA) donation, specifically hand and face. The specific goals of the 2017 grant program are to identify successful strategies that can serve as model interventions to: Increase public knowledge about opportunities for, and risks and benefits of, living donation, or Increase public knowledge about VCAs and willingness to become a VCA donor and/or authorize a deceased relative to be a VCA donor.
